Meet Mac

Mac

Mark and I went looking at cats yesterday and decided that shy Mac needed a home to call his own. However, since they now require a vet check and asked for us to bring the dogs in to see how he'd react, he didn't come home with us yesterday. I took Suki and Tara up for the 'meet and greet' this afternoon and as you can tell - it was successful. Neither dog nor cat seemed phased by the other.

Apparently Mac has 'grown up' in the shelter. He was adopted out once (in 2006) and returned because the resident cat was beating up on him. We decided to give him a chance - he's quite scared at first, but once he's on your lap, he just wants to stay there and be pet.

I spent over an hour with him this afternoon, just petting and comforting him. He's still timid, but I think he'll be that way for some time. Just hoping he'll come around soon enough -- although I'm not sure we need a fourth cat on the bed.
